DIG PINK: Lady Cat Volleyball Help a Greater Cause

A long-time tradition by the Questa Lady Cat Volleyball teams was continued once again this year by honoring, recognizing, and helping out our local cancer heroes or as we like to call them “warriors.” This year our Questa Lady Cats, along with Junior High manager Ysidro Garcia in grades 7-12 sold nearly 300 cancer awareness T-shirts in roughly one week. Celina and Chris Trujillo with Northern Design quickly got to work on the order to have them printed prior to our Dig Pink game that took place on Oct. 18. In addition to the T-shirt sales, we also held a raffle for a 36-inch Blackstone gas griddle cooking station, which was a huge success!

Our entire profit was then divided among three Cancer Warrior recipients; Gloria Segura, Martha Sanchez, and Johnny Gonzales, who each received a check in the amount of $2,000! Surpassing contributions from past years, this was made possible by the generosity of our players, manager, parents, and our great little community whose willingness to help others in need always comes through. Thank you! Alyssah Duran of Alyssah’s Creation Station also donated three gift certificates, one for each recipient for a handmade tumbler of their choice.

On behalf of Questa Volleyball, we would like to thank everybody for their continued support of our fundraising efforts. We wish healing and blessings upon “Our Local Warriors.” You are in our thoughts and prayers.
