J&L Powersports Launches New UTV Rentals

There is no doubt that summer has made its debut, bringing with it no shortage of off-road vehicles and people taking advantage of the sunny days. Just drive up Cabresto Canyon and you’ll be sure to meet up with outdoor enthusiasts—some local, and some experiencing our terrain for the first time. When people look at a map of the Enchanted Circle, they usually notice the bigger resort towns like Taos or Red River first. But a local, family-owned business is showing why Questa is actually the perfect place to start your summer trips

This July, we are highlighting J&L Powersports for the third month in a row, and they have some big news for our local economy and outdoor community: the official launch of J&L Rentals.

Operating right out of their main powersports shop, this new side-by-side rental business is here to provide visitors, hunters, campers, and local organizations with reliable UTV rentals so they can easily explore everything Northern New Mexico has to offer.

Why Questa is a Great Choice

Instead of dealing with busy tourist hubs, J&L Rentals is showing why starting out in Questa just makes sense. Choosing Questa for your outdoor trips comes with some real advantages that bigger towns don’t have.
Locals already know what visitors are starting to find out: Questa gives you quick access to miles of outdoor trails with a lot less traffic and congestion. It offers a quieter, more authentic experience while still being a short drive from Taos, Red River, and Eagle Nest.

For travelers, the logistics are simple. Instead of hauling heavy equipment from a town hours away, you can come straight to Questa, pick up a rental right near the trails, and get moving.

A Look at the Rentals

A rental service is only as good as its equipment, and J&L Rentals is starting out with two tough, multi-passenger machines built for our rugged mountain terrain:

  • 2024 Polaris Xpedition XP 5 Ultimate: Built for long rides and comfort, this machine has plenty of room for multiple passengers and extra storage space for gear like coolers and camp chairs.
  • 2023 Can-Am Defender Max DPS HD9: A durable machine designed for hard work and tough trails. It is great for taking a group into the woods or hauling heavy materials like fencing supplies.

More Than Just Trail Riding

While a lot of people think of UTVs just for weekend trail riding, these machines are useful for a lot of different jobs. J&L Rentals is already getting interest from local organizations that want to use the side-by-sides for community events and area projects. Locals and visitors are finding plenty of practical ways to use them, including:

  • Hunting and Camping: Getting into remote campsites and packing gear in and out of hunting camps.
  • Ranch and Property Work: Helping locals with property upkeep, fixing fences, and moving heavy materials.
  • Sightseeing and Events: Getting a great view for photography, taking scenic tours, or helping run local events.
  • Friendly Service from People Who Know the Area

When you rent a machine, having good equipment is only half of it. What makes this family-owned business stand out is how well they know our local mountains. The team at J&L Rentals doesn’t just hand over the keys—they make sure you have the maps, safety tips, and information you need to navigate the area responsibly. Their goal is straightforward: provide clean, reliable machines and friendly service, so anyone heading out into the woods has the backing of neighbors who know the land.
