When the last whistle was blown for the Ladycats season, it marked the end of an era.

This Questa Ladycats team laced them up for the first time in third grade, known as the Supergirls. Playing together for the past 10 years, there were high expectations leading into their senior and final season with one thing on all their minds—bring home the blue!!!

The Ladycats ended their year in the state quarterfinals of the New Mexico State Tournament with a loss to Laguna Acoma, but goals were met and they had nothing to hang their heads about; they had a season record of 20-7, 8-2 in the district, and they qualified as an 8 seed in the New Mexico State Tournament.

As a community, we are all so proud of this year’s 2025 Ladycats basketball team; junior Alyse Lovato was named to the 2A All-State team, and The Big 3 for the Ladycats, senior Kamryn Cardenas, senior Aliyah Santistevan, and junior Alyse Lovato were all named to All-District team.

The Questa Ladycats’ future is taking shape. Losing seven phenomenal seniors this year is a hard hit to the program, but Coach Steve Rael and the Cats still have big goals for the 2026 season.

All-star Alyse Lovato returns along with Ana Cisneros, Jocelyn Ortega, Allison Segura, Madison Schave, and Aliyah Dominguez; they have a strong core of girls returning, but they are a very young team.

Their goals will be the same as 2025, take the district and advance to the 2026 State Tournament; seniors Aliyah Santistevan, Kamryn Cardenas, Alyana Leon, Allianna Gonzalez, Kiara Arellano, and Alexis Brown deserve a huge congratulations for an amazing 2025 year.

Thank you, seniors, for a year to remember. This team will be talked about for years to come; time to hang up your capes, Supergirls, at least for a while. Hopefully a few of your careers may continue, and we will be watching! It was a great season, and we will be looking forward to next year for another deep run into the playoffs!!
