Photo Competition Coming To Red River in June

Get ready to smile and say “cheese!” The Red River Chamber of Commerce has just announced its very first photo competition, and it’s called Radiant Reflections. The contest will take place during the exciting Vino in the Valley Festival from June 13 to 15, 2025.

Everyone is welcome to join—kids, teens, and adults. Whether you’re a professional photographer or just love taking pictures with your phone, this contest is for you!

There are six fun photo categories to choose from:

• Adult Category (ages 19 and up)
• Youth Category (18 and under)
• Landscape Photography (beautiful views of nature or cities)
• Wildlife Photography (animals in their natural homes)
• Black & White Photography (any photo in black and white)
• People’s Choice (voted by the public!)

Each person can send in one photo for up to two categories. Photos must be printed (no digital files), and they should be 11 x 14” or smaller. Pictures need to be either framed or mounted on foam board. All entries must be turned in at the festival on June 12 or 13.

The voting begins on Saturday, June 14 at 10 a.m., when festival gates open. People can vote for their favorite photos until noon on Sunday. Judges will also pick winners, and if there’s a tie, the public votes will help decide. Prizes will be given out at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Winners in each category will get $100 and a special gift. The People’s Choice winner will take home $50 and a gift, and 2nd- and 3rd-place winners will receive gift cards to local shops and restaurants.

All the photos will be shown on special display boards at the festival, so everyone can enjoy them. The Chamber of Commerce may also use the pictures in the future to promote Red River.

This contest is a great way to show off your skills, share your love for Red River, and maybe even win a prize!
