Public input wanted for transportation plan

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) is updating its Long-Range Strategic Plan and will develop a mission and clear vision for the future of transit service in NCRTD’s large geographical service area. The development of the plan will include input from the communities it serves within the District, as well as the eight Northern Pueblos and the Jicarilla Apache Nation.

Community members can provide feedback and learn more about the project at www.ncrtd-lrsp.com. Additionally, community members can also provide input and participate in in-person workshops scheduled to take place in Española, Taos, Los Alamos, and Santa Fe.

NCRTD is now seeking community input on existing challenges in reaching essential destinations, infrastructural needs to connect to transit services, and any other transit related issues and opportunities in the NCRTD service area. It is vital to gather as much community feedback and local knowledge as possible to ensure proposed improvements and recommendations accurately reflect the values and needs of those who live, work, visit, and recreate in the region.

In-person workshops for the Taos area are set for Wednesday, Aug. 3, 3 –4:30 p.m., El Taoseño Room, Town Council Chambers, 120 Civic Plaza Dr, Taos.

Those unable to attend the in-person workshop may access the workshop virtually. Please see the project website, www.ncrtd-lrsp.com for the link to access the workshop virtually. Interested persons may also comment on the project website and share their thoughts through Oct. 31, 2022.

Feedback gathered will help create priorities, guide the future of NCRTD, and inform the development of a Long-Range Strategic Plan that will better meet the needs of the diverse communities in the region.
