Red River Valley Foundation Dissolves, Awards Remaining $10,000 To Red River Valley Charter School

The Red River Valley Foundation (RRVF) presented a $10,000 check to the Red River Valley Charter School during a ceremony held on Monday, December 16. According to a press release from the Town of Red River, the contribution will “support the school’s efforts to enhance educational opportunities for students and further its mission of academic excellence and community engagement.”

The check was presented by RRVF board members Ted Calhoun, Daniel Lamb, and Angela Black to the school’s Executive Director/Superintendent Kimberly Ritterhouse and School Board President Courtney Henderson. The event was attended by representatives from the Town of Red River, the Rex Foundation, and the Red River Chamber of Commerce, showcasing the strong partnership between the school, the foundation, and the broader Red River community.

“We are thrilled to support the incredible work being done at the Red River Valley Charter School,” said RRVF Board President Ted Calhoun, “This donation, originally contributed by the Red River Business Alliance, is a testament to the lasting legacy of businesses that have supported our town’s progress. We are honored to carry that forward through this gift to the school.

The Red River Business Alliance, which dissolved earlier this year, allocated its remaining funds to the RRVF to ensure its contributions would continue to benefit the community. The $10,000 donation to the charter school reflects the Alliance’s dedication to local education and community development.

Ritterhouse expressed her gratitude, stating, “This generous donation will make a meaningful impact on our students, allowing us to enhance resources and programs that support their learning and growth. We deeply appreciate the continued support from the Red River Valley Foundation and the legacy of the Red River Business Alliance.”

The RRVF’s ongoing support for local organizations highlights its mission to strengthen the region through philanthropy and collaboration. This donation will be allocated for key projects and initiatives that benefit students, teachers, and the school’s long-term goals.
