Vida Camp is Back this Summer!

Questa’s free Vida Camp is back this summer, running from June 28 to July 14 this year. Kids ages 5 through 12 will meet from 8 am to 5 pm three days a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. An additional hour of daycare will also be available, until 6 pm.

Campers will make new friends, learn new skills, and take pride in doing good deeds in a fun and safe environment. Vida Camp explores our resilient watershed and culture with day trips to water places and local farms, hiking, and other activities. Campers will have ample opportunity to explore outdoors, cool off in the water, participate in activities involving gardening and animals, do arts and crafts, and play games.
Although Vida Camp is for youth ages 5 to 12, it is open to kids wanting to develop leadership skills, ages 13 to 15, as Junior Counselors—they will participate in the counselor training program to qualify.
Beyond that age group, Vida Camp needs paid counselors age 16 or older, who can commit to working for the three weeks and attend the counselor training, June 23 and 24.

Lunch and breakfast will be provided. The location of “base camp” (where campers need to be dropped off and picked up daily), schedule of camper activities, and day trip locations will also be provided so that families know where their campers will be.

Vida Camp is accepting donations so that we can offer this camp free of charge to youth in the Questa area. Please contact Maria Gonzalez with Vida Del Norte at (575) 779-2260 if you can make a financial donation to support Vida Camp, have questions, or would like to become a counselor or junior counselor and attend the counselor training. You can also drop off any fun indoor or outdoor games and crafts supplies for the camp at the Vida Del Norte office, 62 Highway 38 in Questa. Donation drop-off times are Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 12 to 4, or call for additional times, (575) 779-2260.
Space is limited for this free camp, so sign up your campers today! Visit www.localogy.org/vida.
