Library Display Opportunity: Artwork And Textiles

The Questa Public Library is seeking artists who would like to have a solo or small group show in our beautiful new display area. Currently we have openings for the months of September and October and are looking for artists to fill those slots. All you have to do is bring in your “ready to hang” artwork and we will do the display and promote your show for you. If you would like an “opening celebration,” the Friends of the Library group will work with you to make this special event happen.

We are also getting ready to change out our 6-month textile display. The current items will come down at the end of March. Please help bring the warmth—and often history—of your beloved textiles to this community space. The textile displays last for six months. If you are interested, please drop off your textiles at the library the last week of March. Please make sure to label your item with your name and contact information. We are looking for handmade quilts, weavings, crocheted and knitted items, as well as unique fashion items. There is no age or expertise limit.

If you are interested in participating in either of these opportunities, please contact the library at library@villageofquesta.org or our display coordinator at pegtrigg@gmail.com.

Author

  • Questa Creative Council Board member and artist: I paint the Southwest because I love the land! Being raised in the country, I have a strong tie to it. It’s a sense of deep emotions, of memory, and of history. While I am painting, I try to capture the feeling of the place, what is all around me: the smells, what I hear, and what I see – a complete picture. My abstracts represent “My Other Side.” I play with emotions through color, shapes, and energy to make playful compositions.
