The Fountain Of Youth; Close As Your Faucet
The fountain of youth is water! When you drink a sufficient amount of pure water every day, your skin glows, those fine lines and wrinkles diminish, you fuel your muscles, your energy increases, and your overall health improves.
With each breath your lungs expel water all day long, not to mention trips to the bathroom. During robust exercise or on hot days, you lose even more water through perspiration.
Ideally, you should drink half your body weight in ounces every day. If the weather is hot or very dry or you’re exercising, you may need to drink more than that.
Here are some tips for making it easy:
- Divide your total wight by two. That is the number of ounces of water to drink. If you weigh 160 pounds, you need to drink 80 ounces of water.
- Even though there is water in other beverages and food, don’t count that in your daily dose of water. This equation is a good rule of thumb for pure water consumption.
- If you use a 32-ounce juice bottle. (If you weigh 160 pounds, you’ll need to drink two-and-a-half bottles worth.)
- Fill your bottle with tap water
- Thank the water. Research studies show that being grateful is good for your body and mind.
- Keep that bottle with you where ever you go. Drink often.
What about bottled water? Each plastic bottle takes 500 years to decompose so be kind to the Earth and take your reusable water bottle with you.
