ASTROLOGY: OCTOBER 2021

“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

When researching this quote, I found many references to its source, including Native American elders, Alice Walker (author of the book, We are the Ones We Have Been Waiting For, published in 2006), Peter Levine (author of We are the Ones We Have Been Waiting For, published in 2013), and many more books, theses, and papers all with the same title. The statement in fact, is so profound, so stirring, and so timely all of those times it has been spoken, written, and published that it has become a universal statement, a universal recognition that waiting for something, someone, sometime to come along and rescue us is no longer a possible or profitable idea. Nor is it esoterically sound.

“Waiting” is ruled by Saturn, the god of time and chronic conditions. This month, he returns to his “direct” mode of transport, as opposed to his retrograde mode, re-strengthening this idea of Waiting. Yet, he is also in the sign of this Age of Aquarius, which is currently rolling over the top of us whether we are ready or not. Aquarius is “WE THE PEOPLE!” What and whom are we waiting for? The time is already here. To change the world, we must be the change. This change is about all the people recognizing all the people, that we are in this together, that helping one another is the only way any of us will get out of this “alive,” meaning evolving and growing into who we were all meant to become. “We are the ones we have been waiting for,” is a direct translation of Saturn in Aquarius, the sign of We. The wait is over.
