Questa Independent School District students joined together at the Questa High School to observe the October 14 annular solar eclipse from the football field. The event was organized by the QISDs Business Manager Domingo Torres.
People were encouraged to go at 10:30 a.m., which was deemed the best viewing time for the eclipse.
Kids got to enjoy hot cocoa and apple cider as they looked at the eclipsing sun through a Celestron Nexstar Evolution 9.25” telescope. The telescope had a solar filter to protect kids eyes from the sun.
Julie Segura shared photos of the event with Questa del Rio News on Facebook. She says, “I thought it would be nice to show the community what the staff is doing to provide opportunities for our students and the overall community.”
