Annual Light Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 9

The Village of Questa will be holding their annual Light Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 9. The parade will start at 5:30 p.m. at Herrera Road, across the street from the Village of Questa offices, and end at Station 522 & Cisneros Gas Station.

After the parade, people can head to Perovich Park (the Questa stoplight intersection) where the tree lighting will take place, followed by an evening of hot cocoa, Christmas caroling, cookies, and holiday cheer.

“This event is a chance to unite our communities in northern New Mexico, while bringing holiday cheer to the community, especially for those who may not be very cheery or if they feel alone during the holiday season,” Village of Questa organizer Valerie Vigil says.

This year’s event is sponsored by the LOR Foundation, who pride themselves in providing solutions and stories from the historic village between the Rio Grande Gorge and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
The event is free and open to the public. If you’re interested in participating in the parade, you can contact Valerie Vigil at (575) 741-5334 or vvigil@villageofquesta.com
