Questa forming a Planning & Zoning commission

The Village of Questa has drafted an ordinance for the creation of a new Planning and Zoning Commission for increased efficiency in matters of residential and business zoning within village limits.
The new commission’s stated purpose is “to establish a municipal organization of appointed officials in order to promote and carry out a continuous process of comprehensive planning and zoning within the jurisdiction of the village.”

The Village Planning and Zoning Commission will consist of five members appointed by the mayor with the consent of the council. According to the ordinance, “on the first commission a majority of the members shall be appointed for one-year terms and the balance of the members shall be appointed for two-year terms. Each subsequent term of a member shall be for two years or less in order to maintain the original staggering of terms.” Vacancies will also be filled by the mayor with the consent of the council.
People interested in joining can submit a letter of intent to the Village of Questa office.
